This short course provides basic fundamental knowledge about the quantum nature of light, about wave-particle duality and the Heisenberg uncertainty relation, about the main quantum effects and limitations, about different models of atoms, about the transition from ordinary materials to nanostructured ones, about quantum technologies and quantum computers, about methods of modeling the electronic structure of atoms.
